English - Reading
At Wednesbury Oak one of our school drivers is to encourage a love of language; therefore Reading is a priority area of our curriculum.
We aim to nurture a love of reading, where pupils choose to read widely and frequently for different purposes, but most importantly, for pleasure. We support pupils, so that they acquire the ability to read fluently and demonstrate a good understanding of a wide range of texts. We also encourage pupils to use, learn, develop and access a rich and varied vocabulary.
