Attendance
Parent Guide to AttendanceWorking Together to Improve School Attendance
Wednesbury Oak Academy seeks to ensure that all its pupils reach their full potential. We provide a welcoming, caring environment, whereby each member of the school community feels wanted and secure. We work closely with pupils and their families to ensure each child attends school regularly and punctually. We are clear that 'attendance is everyone's responsibility'.
At Wednesbury Oak, we celebrate punctuality and attendance each week, through our weekly assemblies and visits to the Attendance Shop.
Each week, our attendance winners in Early Years, Key Stage 1 and 2 are announced in assembly, receiving the Attendance Bears, who remain in their class for the week.

Each child in school has an attendance record sheet, where they collect one stamp for each week they are in school every day, on time. Once they have received eight stamps, they are rewarded with a visit to our Attendance Shop. The prizes become larger the more stamps children collect, with further prizes being awarded at 16, 24, 32, 36, 38 and 39 stamps.
