Our Curriculum Implementation

At Wednesbury Oak Academy, for the teaching of History, we follow the Rising Stars History scheme of work. Three units of History are taught per year group per year. Each unit within the scheme is progressive and aims to increase children’s historical knowledge, historical skills and historical enquiry. Units are adapted to suit our local context and include local history. History is taught in mixed ability classes to enable all children to progress through the curriculum together and experience the same high expectations.
