We want to immerse children with inspirational authors.
Our use of the Read in to Writing scheme, allows children to study texts from a variety of authors, including Cressida Cowell, Beatrix Potter, Maurice Sandak, Anne Fine, Ted Hughes and David Almond, to name just a few. As well as this, our ‘Author Spotlight’ aims to introduce children to a range of authors, providing them with information about the author themselves, as well as books they have written. Each half-term, a different author is focused on and displayed in our main library area. To accompany this, children are also encouraged to take part in homework activities, linked to the author, via our online learning platform.
Our spotlight author for Autumn 1 was Roald Dahl. You can continue to discover more about Roald Dahl and his well-known books here: https://www.roalddahl.com/
