Our love of reading is celebrated across school in many different ways.

Take a look at just some of the things we do in school to encourage and promote our love of reading. 

We want to immerse children with inspirational authors.

Our English Writing journeys allow children to study texts from a variety of authors, including Roald Dahl, C.S.Lewis, Oliver Jeffers, Carol Ann Duffy and Michael Morpurgo to name just a few. 

Each year, we also aim to host a visiting author. In November 2024, we welcomed Simon Hunt, author of Delilah the Bogey Princess and Billy the Bottom Burping Pirate. 

Each year, we celebrate World Book Day. 

Multiple times throughout the school year, we hold a Scholastic Book Fair. 

Children from across school are able to browse books in within the school day and then they are invited, after school, along with parents and carers, to visit the fair to purchase books.
