Message from the Headteacher
On behalf of the staff, pupils, parents and governors, I would like to offer you a warm welcome to Wednesbury Oak Academy’s website. I hope it provides a useful insight into the wonderful opportunities our children experience. Opportunities which are designed to help them to develop academic, creative and social skills in order to be able, active and inspired young people. We want to give them a memorable time at school and prepare them to go on to have the best chances in life.
I am very proud to be the Headteacher of such a wonderful school where our children are polite, kind and enthusiastic learners. They are at the heart of every decision we make and our desire is to support them in feeling safe, valued and to become confident lifelong learners.
Our excellent team of staff ensure that our children explore a broad and balanced curriculum across all aspects of school life. We have consistently high aspirations for our pupils. We want our pupils to leave Wednesbury Oak with lasting memories built from opportunities to explore the world around them. But also, importantly, we want our pupils to question, find answers and become independent in making well informed judgements about their future lifestyles.
We offer a range of sport and dance after school clubs, which allow the children to learn and develop new skills whilst having fun. Each term’s after school clubs are listed on our website.
Our school has a warm, friendly and dedicated team, who support children and families. As well as teachers and support staff, we also have our Parent Support Officer, Attendance Officer, Safeguarding Officer and our office staff, who can offer valuable advice and support to children and families. Positive partnerships with our parents are valued and, throughout the year, we share experiences with parents through Praise Assemblies, 'getting to know the team' meetings and many other parental events.
Wednesbury Oak Academy has extensive grounds: we have an outdoor classroom, a forest school area and plenty of space for the children to enjoy. More recently, we have developed our playgrounds with new activities for the children to use during their playtimes.
I hope this website gives you a true flavour of what we have to offer here. If you are thinking of Wednesbury Oak as a school for your child, please come and visit us. Appointments can be made through the school office, and I would welcome the opportunity to meet you personally and show you around. First-hand experience can never be replaced.
